Terms of Use
Last Updated: June 19, 2026
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your use of LocalSign (the “Service”), a free, browser-based PDF editing and simple electronic signature placement tool. By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
LocalSign runs entirely in your web browser. It has no user accounts, performs no server-side PDF processing, provides no cloud document storage, and does not upload your documents. It is a document-editing utility only — not a legal, identity-verification, notary, or certified digital-signature service. See the Disclaimer.
Who operates this Service
This Service is operated by Seshadri K, an individual developer based in India. For legal, compliance, abuse, or support inquiries, contact: contact@infrays.org.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use this Service.
2. Your responsibilities
You are solely responsible for:
- any document you open, edit, or create with the Service;
- the contents of those documents;
- how you use any signature or signature mark, including obtaining all necessary authorization to use it;
- your compliance with all laws and regulations that apply to you;
- determining whether a signature or document is legally valid, sufficient, or acceptable in your jurisdiction and for your purpose;
- maintaining your own backups of your documents. Because the Service keeps nothing after you close the tab, lost work cannot be recovered by us.
3. No legal advice
The Service does not provide legal advice and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified lawyer. The Service does not determine, and cannot determine, the enforceability of any document. Any decision to rely on a document edited or signed with the Service is yours alone.
4. No identity verification
The Service does not verify the identity, authority, capacity, ownership, or authenticity of any signer or any party to a document. It does not check whether a person is who they claim to be or whether they are authorized to sign.
5. No guarantee of legal effect
A signature mark placed with the Service is a simple electronic signature mark. The Service does not guarantee, and makes no representation as to, the legal validity, enforceability, admissibility, authenticity, or acceptance of any document or signature by any government, court, regulator, organization, employer, bank, or other third party. The Service does not provide certificate-based digital signatures (DSC), qualified electronic signatures, Aadhaar eSign, notarization, or any government or court-approved signing scheme.
6. Acceptable use
You agree that you will not use the Service to:
- commit fraud, forgery, or any deceptive or unlawful act;
- impersonate any person or apply a signature you are not authorized to apply;
- create, alter, or distribute illegal documents or content, or engage in any unlawful activity;
- distribute malware or otherwise harm any system or person;
- infringe the intellectual-property or other rights of any third party;
- use another person’s signature without authorization.
Because your documents are processed entirely in your browser, you are solely accountable for what you create and how you use it.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LocalSign and its operator, contributors, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of or damage to documents, lost or corrupted data, business interruption, lost profits, legal disputes, documents rejected by any third party, or any consequence of your use or misuse of the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the total aggregate liability of the Service operator shall not exceed INR 1,000 or the amount paid by the user for the Service, whichever is lower. This section does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
8. Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless LocalSign and its operator from and against any claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your documents, your signatures, the content you process, your violation of these Terms, or your misuse of the Service.
9. Service availability and warranties
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or compatible with your device or browser, or that an exported file will render identically in every PDF viewer.
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.
Subject to any non-waivable rights under applicable law, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
11. Assignment
The Service operator may assign these Terms and obligations to a successor entity, affiliate, purchaser, or future business organization without prior notice.
12. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a court or other competent authority, that provision shall be severed or limited to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms or the Service at any time. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent via the Contact page or to contact@infrays.org.
